03 · External reference context

Device and diagnostic background

A pregnancy rapid test is an in vitro diagnostic device designed to detect human chorionic gonadotropin in an authorized specimen, commonly urine. Strip, cassette and midstream formats have different collection and handling instructions. They are not medicines and do not by themselves establish pregnancy location, viability or gestational age. Test sensitivity and intended use belong to the particular validated assay.

Intended-use context

The result depends partly on timing relative to conception and the amount of hormone in the sample. Testing too early can produce a negative result despite pregnancy. A positive result should be considered in the wider clinical context, and pain or bleeding may require urgent assessment. This catalogue does not establish a detection threshold, earliest testing day, reading time or model-level accuracy claim for any of the listed formats.

Interpretation and safety boundaries

False results can occur with incorrect timing, sample handling, degraded reagents or factors affecting hCG. Reading a device outside its specified window can be misleading. A negative result does not exclude a very early pregnancy, and a positive result cannot exclude ectopic pregnancy. Severe abdominal pain, fainting or substantial bleeding needs prompt medical care regardless of the test. Reagents and small components must be handled safely.

Selected external context only. It is not a complete risk profile or Luang Pharma approved labelling. The exact authorised IFU/label and applicable professional guidance control product use.

System, model and handling evidence

The three formats need separate authorized instructions and performance specifications. Confirm specimen type, detection threshold, controls, read window and intended professional or self-test setting. Do not assume that the same manufacturer or performance evidence applies to all formats.

Keep each test in its sealed pouch until use and follow the specified sample, temperature and read-window instructions. Check expiry and control validity. Do not reuse a device or interpret an invalid result as negative; use the follow-up process described in the authorized instructions.

Final instructions, storage conditions, shelf life and any after-opening/in-use limits require the exact controlled product documentation; none is created from a comparator reference.

Points for professional review

Confirm model identity, local registration, intended users and validated performance. Ensure clear instructions and appropriate guidance on unexpected results and symptoms needing clinical assessment.

04 · Layer 04 · Documentation gate

Model, IFU and performance evidence control the device answer.

Before a device/diagnostic record can support procurement, use or compatibility claims, the exact model and intended-use evidence must be identified.

02

Analytical/clinical performance and interference evidence.

03

Self-test/professional-use authorisation as applicable.
