Where the company stands today
Luang Pharma is establishing a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the Boten Economic Zone, Lao PDR. The company is not yet manufacturing, holds no manufacturing licence, and none of its portfolio lines are registered or available for supply.
The project brief of 15 June 2026 sets out the plan: a leased facility, USD 5.0 million of investment, and a twelve-month build programme ending with the manufacturing licence application. Publishing that plainly matters more to us than appearing further along than we are.
The team behind it
The investor is a professional team with years of biopharmaceutical industry experience. Its core members work across research and development, production, quality control and international trade, and have carried projects through execution, resource integration, process transfer and market development.
The team's experience covers the chain from protein purification through to finished dosage manufacturing, and it has built a reserve of technical and management personnel to take part in operations once the facility is commissioned.
Research collaboration
The team maintains long-term collaboration with Peking University and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. The agreed areas are advanced research, technology transfer, protein purification, formulation process optimisation and joint talent development.
Why Boten
The Boten Economic Zone sits on the Chinese border with customs and logistics access to ASEAN markets, and a policy environment suited to a manufacturing investment of this size. For this project it is a base for technology transfer and capacity deployment rather than a sales office.
