02 · Variants
Preserve each catalogue row without inferring missing SKU relationships.
| Variant | Proposed strength / concentration | Dosage form | Presentation detail | Pack relationship | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | 1 mg/mL | Oral suspension | — | Bottle 30 mL | Pack option is explicit; paediatric eligibility, indication and safety labelling are not. |
| B | 1 mg/mL | Oral suspension | — | Bottle 60 mL | Pack option is explicit; paediatric eligibility, indication and safety labelling are not. |
The table reproduces or structures catalogue-level fields. It does not create an approved SKU, instruction or specification where the source record does not provide one.
03 · External reference context
Ingredient and dosage-form background
Domperidone is an antiemetic that affects dopamine signaling and gastrointestinal movement. Its use is limited by potentially serious effects on heart rhythm, and national authorizations differ. It should not be presented as a routine pediatric nausea medicine simply because a liquid exists. This page provides ingredient education for professional review; it does not establish an approved Luang Pharma indication, pediatric age range, or suitability for a particular patient.
Clinical context and therapeutic role
Before considering an antiemetic, the cause of vomiting and any dehydration, obstruction or other serious illness should be assessed. UK regulators removed the indication in children younger than twelve following evidence of lack of efficacy in that population; other countries have their own restrictions. Selection requires review of the current local authorization, cardiac history, liver function and interacting medicines. Persistent vomiting or inability to keep fluids down warrants clinical attention.
Selected safety context
Domperidone can prolong the QT interval and cause serious ventricular arrhythmias. Risk assessment includes existing rhythm disorders, significant electrolyte abnormalities, heart failure and interacting QT-prolonging medicines or strong metabolic inhibitors. Significant hepatic impairment and gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruction or perforation may make use inappropriate. Palpitations, fainting or collapse require urgent assessment. Dry mouth can occur. Age restrictions and treatment limits must follow the current authorized local label and professional judgment.
Selected external context only. It is not a complete risk profile or Luang Pharma approved labelling. The exact authorised IFU/label and applicable professional guidance control product use.
Formulation, presentation and handling evidence
The catalogue identifies an oral suspension. A measured volume is meaningful only with the verified concentration and correct mixing instructions. The suspension vehicle, excipients and product-specific behavior cannot be inferred from the ingredient name, and different concentrations must not be compared using volume alone.
Follow the approved instructions for shaking and use a suitable calibrated oral device. Keep the bottle properly closed and labeled. Storage conditions and the permitted period after opening must be established from the actual supplied product; this profile does not assign either.
Final instructions, storage conditions, shelf life and any after-opening/in-use limits require the exact controlled product documentation; none is created from a comparator reference.
Points for professional review
A pediatric clinician or pharmacist should confirm the diagnosis, authorized age range, weight-related assessment where relevant, concentration and measuring device. Catalogue placement in a pediatric category is not evidence of approval for children.
