  • Generic identity: Glibenclamide.
  • Dosage form: tablet.
  • Catalogue strength / concentration: 5 mg.
  • Catalogue pack: Blister 10 x 10 tablets.
  • Catalogue category: Diabetes & Metabolic Medicines.

Layer 02 · Unresolved product-specific fields

  • Exact finished-product composition, excipients and manufacturing specification.
  • Micronized versus nonmicronized character, particle/formulation specification, exact strength basis and dissolution/bioavailability controls.

Identity note

Glyburide is the US name used for glibenclamide. A current DailyMed comparator explicitly notes non-bioequivalence between certain micronized and nonmicronized strengths, so micronization cannot be inferred for LP-058.

02 · Variants

The table reproduces or structures catalogue-level fields. It does not create an approved SKU, instruction or specification where the source record does not provide one.

03 · External reference context

Ingredient and dosage-form background

Glibenclamide, called glyburide in the United States, is a sulfonylurea that stimulates insulin release. It is used in selected type 2 diabetes treatment plans and can cause hypoglycaemia. It is not a replacement for insulin in type 1 diabetes or a treatment for diabetic ketoacidosis. This general educational profile does not establish Luang Pharma approved labeling or determine that this ingredient is preferable to other glucose-lowering options.

Clinical context and therapeutic role

Clinical selection considers the person’s glycaemic goals, meal pattern, kidney and liver function, age and risk of low blood glucose. Older or frail patients and those with impaired organ function may be particularly vulnerable to prolonged hypoglycaemia. The clinician evaluates alternatives and other diabetes medicines. A clear plan should cover glucose monitoring and what to do during illness, fasting or reduced food intake without relying on a website for individualized instructions.

Selected safety context

Hypoglycaemia can be severe or prolonged and may cause sweating, shakiness, confusion, seizures or unconsciousness. Marked symptoms need urgent care. Weight gain and gastrointestinal discomfort can occur. Renal or hepatic impairment, missed meals, alcohol and interacting medicines can increase risk. Some beta blockers can obscure warning symptoms. Pregnancy and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency require review. The exact formulation must be confirmed; different glyburide products are not necessarily interchangeable solely by stated milligrams.

Selected external context only. It is not a complete risk profile or Luang Pharma approved labelling. The exact authorised IFU/label and applicable professional guidance control product use.

Formulation, presentation and handling evidence

The catalogue describes a tablet presentation. The exact salt, coating, score line and release characteristics need confirmation from the authorized product information. A milligram strength identifies ingredient quantity; it does not establish whether a tablet may be split, crushed or exchanged for another formulation.

Keep the product in its labeled packaging so the batch, expiry and instructions remain identifiable. Follow the actual label for storage conditions and disposal. Do not use a damaged or unidentified tablet, and keep all medicines securely out of children’s reach.

Final instructions, storage conditions, shelf life and any after-opening/in-use limits require the exact controlled product documentation; none is created from a comparator reference.

Points for professional review

A diabetes-care professional should confirm the formulation, glycaemic objective, renal function and hypoglycaemia risk. The person should have an individualized monitoring and illness plan; this educational page does not supply dose-selection or conversion instructions.

04 · Layer 04 · Documentation gate

Controlled product documents must close the held fields.

Before this medicine record can support product-specific clinical, technical or supply claims, the exact finished-product documentation must resolve the held fields.
